Dr. Mohamed Abdulwadood Al-Areeki

Senior Water Resources Specialist

Having a 30-years’ experience in the area of water resources management, strategic water sector planning, evaluation and policy development, setting of long-term water sector plans, integrated water resources management including Dams, river basin and regional resources. In addition, Dr. Al-Areeki has also very wide experience in the area of sanitation, water distribution networks, hydrology, hydraulic structures design and implementation, water treatment plant design, watershed management and flash flood control structures design, urban storm water management, open channel hydraulics, river engineering, dam operation, water quality analysis and environmental engineering.

Dr. Al-Areeki gained his Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) in Dams Hydrology/ Water Resources from University of Newcastle upon Tyne (2002), England, and has published several articles in the field of water resources, hydraulics and environmental engineering in international journals and conferences.

Dr. Al-Areeki is an Ass. Professor at Faculty of Engineering, Sana'a University - Yemen, teaching engineering hydrology, water resources, and hydraulic structures. Currently, he is the head of Water and Sanitation Department at DEEP.
