Consultant Duties |
- Conducting the detail design and preparation of the bidding documents for rehabilitation and extension of the water supply system in 4 urban cities (Al-Hali – Hodeida, AL-Hawtah – Lahj, Dhamar City and Al-Qabel, Alman & BaniHwant in Bani Al-Harith – Amanat Al-Asemah – Sana’a) in addition to the extension of water projects in Amran City and Kamran Island. - Conducting the detail design and preparation of the bidding documents for rehabilitation/construction and extension of the Sanitation system (Wastewater Treatment Plant & Sewer Networ) in 4 urban cities (Al-Muklla – Hadramout, Amran City, Kamran Island & Al-Dhafeer – Hajah). • The work covers the following activities: • Site investigation studies including topographical survey and Geotechnical works and Environmental impact assessment. • Creating hydraulic models using waterCad and SewerCad softwares. • Conducting the detailed engineering design for Civil, Mechanical and electrical works including solar energy system and water treatment/ desalination system for Kamran Island using Reverse Osmosis (RO) technique. • Preparing tender documents and cost estimates for all required work and supplies for implementation. |

• Water Projects Features: 1- Al-Hali – Hodidah Water Project The project aims at improving the existing water supply and distribution system in Al-Hodida city in general and to meet the required expansion in the targeted eight sub-districts of Al-Hali District up to horizon year 2050. About 136,573 m length of water supply new pipelines, HDPE and DI of diameters range from 90mm to 600 mm will be added to the existing system together with 22,179 house connections including 25,825 new water meters. The study recommends also drilling of 176 wells over the period from 2020 to 2050. |

2- Al-Hawta – Lahj Water Project The project covers extension and rehabilitation of Public Water Network and extension of solar-powered pumping units for Al-Hawta – Lahj Governorate. The project activities include the following: - Providing solar power system for 10 wells in Magras Nagi well field. - Completion of transmission pipeline from Magras Nagi pumping station to Dandar reservoir with new ductile iron pipes of 300 mm and 3180 m length. - Implementation of about 11,514 m ductile Iron pipes of 300, 200 &150 mm diameters from Magras Naji tank to Eastern Saber, Western Saber and Al-Waht town. 3- Dhamar Water Project The project includes expansion of water network and installation of solar energy system for pumping units - Dhamar City and comprised the following activities: - Providing solar power systems for four wells. - Three tanks are designed and added to the system, namely Thamar (4000 m3), West University (6000 m3) and Quarn Dhamar (6000 m3). - A new network has been designed and integrated to the existing system with replacement to the deteriorated pipes and house connections of the existing network whereas pipes of inadequate capacity are reinforced with additional pipelines (Total pipes length 546.638 km of 63 mm to 500mm diameter, HDPE and DI material). - 35,972 house connections. Recommending drilling of 46 wells up to the year 2050. |

4- Bani Al Harith - Amanat Al-A’asema Water Project The project aims to rehabilitate and Expand the Water Supply Network in Bani Al-Harith District – Amanat Al-A’asema targeted three areas, Al-Qable, Elman and Bani-Hawat. The projects cover the following activities: - Al-Qabel Water Project: - Cleaning and developing the 3 existing wells and enhancing the power supply systems with new generators and solar pumping system. - Rehabilitation of the existing water tank and construction of a new tank of 500 m3 capacity. - Installation of new water supply network of PE and GI, fittings and accessories with a total length of 47,190 m. - Replacement of 2679 house connections and installation of 2979 water meters. - Elman Water Project: - Cleaning and developing the 2 existing wells and enhancing the power supply systems with solar pumping system. - Construction of a new tank of 100 m3 capacity. - Installation of new water supply network of PE and GI, fittings and accessories with a total length of 17,176 m. - Installation of 860 house connections and installation of 950 water meters. - Bani-Hawat Water Project: - Extension of 4650 m of 250 mm HDPE transmission pipeline to operate the already existing new distribution network. |

5- Amran Water Supply Project The project comprises the extension of water supply network in Amran City targeting three areas, Al Jabubah & Sharara, Bait Al-Faqih, Shibl and Alhuruwh. The project features are: - A new network has been designed and integrated to the existing system with a total length 113 km. - 3640 house connection together with 4000 water meters will be installed. - Two reinforced concrete elevated tanks of 200 m3 capacity each are added to the water supply system. |

6- Kamran Water Supply Project The project improves the water supply system in Kamran Island through rehabilitation and upgrading of the three existing water treatment plants in the Island (Kamran City, Makram and Al-Yaman Villages) to produce, in addition to the existing new one, about 150 m3/day. The following activities have been considered: - Providing of Solar energy systems and new generators to enhance the water production capacity in addition to new equipment, tools, instruments and measuring devices for improving the efficiency of the RO system and quality of treated water. - Addition of new 4 wells with submersible pumps to the existing system. - Construction of a new building for Kamran City Plant and boundary walls with service rooms for Makram and Al-Yaman Plants. |

· Sanitation Projects Features: 1- Al-Mukalla (Hadramout) Sanitation Project The project aims at extending the sanitation system in the three major areas of Al-Mukall city, Mecca, Al-Taweelah and Ba-Madhaf areas with a total area of 2,640,676 m2, to meet the development occurred in the city. Meanwhile, a rehabilitation work is proposed for the damaged parts of the WWTP that caused by the last flood. The project contains of the following: - About 76.9 km of wastewater gravity uPVC pipe lines, DN 200 to DN 600 diameter. - Approximate 39.4 km of waste water house connections of uPVC pipes, DN 160, including 2,525 inspection chambers. - Approximate 3,427 manholes. - Construction of 3 lifting stations. - Reconstruction of the damaged part of WWTP chlorination contact tanks. |

2- Amran Sanitation Project The project aims at extending the sanitation system in the city of Amran and rehabilitating the Wastewater Treatment Plant to accommodate the development in three vital areas of the City (Al-Jabubah & Sharara, Bait Al-Faqih, Shibl and Alhuruwh). The project contains of the following: - Approximate 44,183 meters of wastewater gravity uPVC pipe lines, DN 200 to DN 600. - Approximate 27,898 meters of waste water house connections of uPVC pipes, DN 150, including 2,861 inspection chambers. - Approximate 1,629 manholes. - In addition, a rehabilitation work to the treatment plant has been considered in this study to increase their efficiency and capacity. |

3- Kamran Island Sanitation Project A new sanitation project has been designed for Kamran Island and contains three treatment plants for Kamran City, Makram and Al-Yaman Villages as well as sewer networks for the three areas. For Kamran City about 8km of uPVC pipe are designed with diameter of DN200mm associated with 3.7km long of house connections of DN160mm. For Makram Village about 2km of uPVC pipe are designed with diameter of DN200mm associated with 1.5km long of house connections of DN160mm. For Al-Yaman Village about 886m of uPVC pipe are designed with diameter of DN200mm associated with 420m of house connection of DN160mm. A wastewater treatment plant of Waste Stabilization Ponds type is designed for the Kamran City while Improved Septic Tanks which are also called Anaerobic Baffled Reactors (ABR) are designed for Makram and Al-Yaman Villages. |

4- Al-Dhafeer-Hajah Sanitation Project Existing sanitation projects in Al-Dhafeer, Alswail and Sasaah areas have been improved through rehabilitation, expansion and new construction of different elements in the WWTP, networks and sites. - Al-Dhafeer Sanitation System: The following rehabilitation works are carried out: - Design new sewer lines to serve the unconnected beneficiaries in the village. - Design a Collection Tank for the treated wastewater with overflow pipe and replacement of the existing improper screen. - Rehabilitation the septic tank access road (stone pavement). - Sasaah Sanitation System: A new WWTP is designed similar to the same type of the existing plant i.e. Imhoff tank preceded by a preliminary treatment component which include Screen, Grit Chamber and Parshall Flume. - Alswail Sanitation System: A new 300mm diameter UPVC pipe is designed to dispose the treated wastewater using alternate route of 595.4m long. This pipe discharges the treated wastewater to the end of Wadi Zahir and thus avoiding any contamination to Hajjah City headwaters water sources. The sites of the Wastewater Treatment Plants site of the three areas have been provided with boundary walls, gates, water tanks and service rooms. |
